As you may know, Wellness AIDS Services Inc. has been dedicated to the fight against HIV/AIDS since 1986.  We have spent countless hours educating the community regarding preventing exposure and infection, and helping those who are infected with HIV.  I am contacting you to ask if you would be willing to help in this fight with a tax-deductible donation. Any donation will help, and your support will help ensure that prevention and care efforts will continue.  We are dedicated to reaching the highest of the high risk individuals in our community.

In 2011, Wellness diagnosed 9 new HIV positives.  These newly diagnosed individuals were all under the age of 39, with two between the ages of 13-19. This shows the agency’s commitment to reaching those most impacted by HIV, and a dedication to improving our community’s health.

Wellness AIDS Services has also implemented new programs and events to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of HIV:

• Our Safe Space – Drop-in center for gay and transgender youth located in downtown Flint

• STI Express – Free Chlamydia and Gonorrhea screening

• Needle Exchange – 1 of 3 in the state, we took in over 6,000 dirty needles
• 1^st Red Masquerade Ball – Fundraising/party with a purpose

Wellness AIDS Services works to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, and to minimize its impact so that infected people can live productive, connected lives.
